The ocean covers 71% of the Earth's surface area and contains abundant biological, mineral, and energy resources. With the increasing scarcity of land resources, deep-sea resource development has become a strategic high ground for global technological competition and sustainable development. At the same time, extreme deep-sea environments (high pressure, low temperature, corrosion, darkness) pose severe challenges to engineering equipment, materials, and operational technologies. How to efficiently develop deep-sea resources and achieve blue growth in the marine economy while ensuring safety and environmental protection is a difficult problem jointly overcome by the international engineering and academic communities. The 2026 International Conference on Ocean Engineering and Deep Sea Resource Development (OEDSRD 2026) aims to build an interdisciplinary and cross-border high-end academic exchange platform, focusing on core issues such as ocean engineering structures, deep sea resource exploration and development, underwater robot technology, etc. It brings together global ocean engineers, deep sea scientists, underwater equipment R&D personnel, and policy makers to jointly promote innovation and sustainable development of deep sea technology.
